This Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) modality helps normalize the body’s physiological functions, modify, or prevent pain perception, and aid in better circulation to allow better communication in the body.
Your body's needs can be addressed using traditional body points, auricular acupuncture and even electrical stimulation of ashi points (trigger points) if and when appropriate.
**Acupressure, tuning forks or moxa can be used on points and channels for those who would prefer a needle free treatment.**

There are hundreds of Classical formulas which are blends of herbs that can be modified and tailored to the individual in a similar way as acupuncture points are selected. These 2 modalities are exceptionally compatible and complimentary by reinforcing the healing principle.
**Can be used by itself very successfully for most conditions as another needle free option**

These techniques are used to draw out congested fluids, cellular debris and toxins to the surface tissue layers, allowing for fresh blood and lymph circulation to dissipate them by the circulatory system.
The "reverse massage" as it pulls up the skin, fascia and muscle, rather than push into it.
A dull edged flat tool is used with oil to scrape the skin.
Like cupping, Gua Sha is used to increase circulation, help release fascia and remove toxins from the body. It is indispensable in my opinion for treating neck pain/tension as well as scar tissue.

Working along meridians throughout the body to affect all systems of the body will tap into these energetic points and add function and balance to the body's qi. Muscle knots are an example of blocked qi that needs to be moved, like a beaver dam in a river.
Tui na is intended to be both relaxing and invigorating. Some techniques and strokes used in Tui Na are much like those used in other types of massage that you might be familiar with like rolling, gliding, and kneading. It is often used in conjunction with acupuncture, gua sha and cupping
Burning of the herb commonly known as mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris), on or close to the skin. It is used to warm, stimulate and nourish points on the body.

The body has the amazing innate ability to heal itself. My goal is to help promote the
healing process using acupuncture and other traditional therapies.
Allow me to help facilitate the change your body needs.
We all have a story. We all have our chosen paths.
This is mine.
During my undergrad, I happened to take a course in Western Herbology. I was smitten, I was captivated, I was thoroughly enamored. I loved having my hands on the herbs, I felt totally empowered by their healing potential.
Over the next several years, I traveled, I worked abroad, I taught English in China, I met incredible people brimming with knowledge on topics I had never heard of. All these experiences culminated into a fierce curiosity about humanity and healing the whole body.
I was instinctually drawn to the way Traditional Chinese Medicine treats the individual, not just herbs, but acupuncture as well. And so my path was born. I finished my 4-year master's degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver in 2015. Then headed for the mountains of Durango.
Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture are based in a holistic approach to wellness, recognizing the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. In terms of cascading poor health trends in the United States (and even Durango), traditional natural healing therapies help manage all systems of the body more effectively and efficiently.
I tend to be gentle in my needling practice and hands on for any pain conditions of joints, soft tissue and muscles. My space is calm and inviting. You may notice a bubbly-euphoric feeling as you leave a session. Maybe you feel lighter, feel less pain, and just feel better in general. And even if we are working on someting like pain, you may find that your sleep starts to improve too. This is because acupuncture is treating the whole body, the whole person.
I genuinely believe in the powerful healing capacity of the medicine I use and wake each morning with the sense of purpose that I can benefit others in a truly essential way.
